Inspired by the logic of “dry docks” and “sunlight,” the design employs boat-shaped spaces to address the dual needs of community residents and pier visitors. The architecture rests like docked vessels within the gaps between tree canopies at varying elevations, its massing flexibly adjusted to tree locations—a design co-created with the trees. Residents and visitors wander through, pausing in the shade or leaning on rails to watch the water, as light and shadow shift around them. The busy routine briefly runs aground here, and a gentle, unhurried moment unfolds among the tree-top docks.
